Taylor Swift is facing heat from Olivia Rodrigo fans after she dropped a song which contained similarities to one previously released by the Drivers License singer.
Swift's new song imgonnagetyouback and Rodrigo's 2023 track Get Him Back! contain the phrase 'get him back' - but the saying has the same double meaning in both tracks.
In both, it is used to describe wanting to reconcile with an ex or exacting revenge against them.
The moment was not lost on fans who recalled how Swift was added to the credits of the Rodrigo song Deja Vu back in 2021 after fans noticed the chords resembled ones from the Taylor track Cruel Summer.
Now fans have stood up for Olivia on X after noticing the similarities.

'so olivia can’t scream in a bridge because that’s taylor’s concept. but taylor can use the whole double meaning of getting them back and it’s a common concept? NEWS FLASH they’re both common and olivia shouldn’t have had to give up 50% royalties on deja vu,' one posted.
Another posted a meme from the film The Social Network with actor Andrew Garfield shown saying, 'You better lawyer up, a**hole. 'Cause I'm not coming back for 50%, I'm coming back for everything.'
'Olivia Rodrigo when she got to track 18 on the Taylor Swift album,' the X user captioned the post.
One fan pointed out that the word play had been used over a decade earlier by Fiona Apple, who released the track 'Get Him Back' in 2005.
'"Olivia Rodrigo invented the double meaning of get him back" "no Taylor Swift" First of all no one did but also. Fiona Apple did in 2005,' the X user tweeted.
One fan called it all 'insane hypocrisy' as they weighed in on the matter.
'taylor swift accepting a royalty from olivia rodrigo for a line in deja vu that sounds a little cruel summer, when she's just released a song called 'imgonnagetoyouback' which has the exact same concept and similar lyrics to olivia's "get him back" is insane hypocrisy.'
'Taylor Swift's "imgonnagetoyouback" and Olivia Rodrigo's "get him back" sound frighteningly similar, but Olivia's is much better and was first. Not cool at all,' another wrote, along with screenshots of the lyrics in comparison.

'Wait so Taylor made Olivia Rodrigo give her song writing credit on Deja Vu because it kinda sounded like Cruel Summer. Is Olivia gonna get a credit because imgonnagetyouback has the same conceit as Get Him Back?' one wondered.
Taylor's track in dispute comes from her brand new album, The Tortured Poets Department.
The issue fans were referencing occurred back in 2021, following the release of Olivia's album Sour.
She faced copyright issues with some of the tracks, including Deja Vu.
The star had re-recorded a melody from Taylor's Cruel Summer, causing Rodrigo to later give both a co-writing credit as well as royalties to Swift. She later dealt with a similar situation with Paramore.
In addition to Swift, co-writers Jack Antonoff and St. Vincent were added to the credits on Deja Vu.
Afterwards, fans speculated the duo were embroiled in a feud with one another.
But Rodrigo insisted she didn't have issues with anyone when asked about an alleged rift with Swift.
'I don’t have beef with anyone,' she told Rolling Stone. 'I’m very chill. I keep to myself. I have my four friends and my mom, and that’s really the only people I talk to, ever. There’s nothing to say.'
She also said she wasn't all that 'involved' in the songwriting credit matter: 'It’s not something that I was super involved in.
'It was more team-on-team. So, I wouldn’t be the best person to ask.'
